Weekends

These past couple weekends have been quite nice. Last Saturday we headed to Wilmington to visit Andy's family. We were celebrating both his birthday and his mom's birthday quite a bit late but it was still a good time. It was a very lazy Saturday and it was wonderful!

I'm pretty sure this picture sums up what Newman is thinking all the time :o) Crazy cat!
I just like that picture of Goldie.

Just yesterday we got to see our friends James and Echo. They got married in January and we'd not seen them since the wedding. They ran off to Hawaii and once they came back Echo's mom was still in America to stay for a while. Apparently she just left Tuesday. They were sweet enough to call us up yesterday and we got to have dinner with them at one of our favorite places and then we headed back to our house so they could see Allie and we talked them into staying for awhile to play some Wii. It was so great seeing them. We love being married and we love spending time together. We rarely do anything with anyone else though so it was nice. It's not that we don't want to. Its more that we just don't think about it. We have each other and for us, right now anyway, that is enough. I guess thats a good thing, right? :o)
I had to put this one od Andy up here. This is definitely his game face :o) I'm pretty sure he was playing the soccer game.

Anyway, we're out. It's Sunday and we are excited for what is ahead. We love our church and maybe, just maybe we'll meet some cool people tonight.

Happy Valentine's Day

I don't think Andy or I are very into this Valentine's Day thing. Sure it's cute when you are in elementary school and you get to make your boxes or decorate your bags and get super excited about exchanging valentines with cheesy pictures and phrases on them (OK, so maybe I did that on Friday with my kids and had fun...) but it seems like the older I get the more I think it's just a holiday created to get people to spend money. Why not tell the person you love, you love them everyday or just randomly suprise them throughout the year with fun thing?. That seems so much more special than expecting something on a certain day because society says so. Needless to say we didn't do anything special for Valentine's. Actually we did nothing at all. Now, let me finish my story before assumptions are made ;oP

We have date night just about every Friday night. It usually involves going out to dinner and watching a movie or walking around Target. We did this as we always do (we ate dinner at this great Mexican Restaurant, Bravo's. It just opened and I highly recommend it! The food is great and the prices are good.) and I was feeling tired but thought it was just from the crazy day and being slightly dissappointed that snow was returning to Cary and Wilmington of all places when we were supposed to go visit Andy's parents. Saturday I felt even ickier and was actually quite glad the snow came and postponed our trip. Sunday I woke up burning up and throughout the entire weekend, the sweetest husband ever did nothing but take care of me and try to make me happy. That's better than any Valentine's gift I could imagine. Though, he got to watch sports all weekend so he did get something out of it after all.

I guess snow is still magical...

Snow Day!

This is my what? 4th post today? Well thanks to the awesome snow I don't have work today (unfortunately that means we have to have school on Saturday, luckily only a half a day though)so it's a great chance to catch up! I'm hoping for a two hour dalay tomorrow! Anyway, we got about 5-6 inches I would say, and it is beautiful! It was kind of nice being "snowed in". Yesterday we actually went out and drove out near the church (Morrisville-ish) and downtown Cary. We took lots of pictures so of course...prepare yourself:

This is what it looked like around 9 Friday night!
Saturday:
Nim is wondering what all this white stuff is.
We decided to build a fire just for kicks. I pretty much napped through the whole thing...
Outside this dreary Saturday morning.

Sunday we decided to go for a walk since it was actaully "nice" and sunny outside.

We also decided to go outside and play with Allie! We think she really enjoys the snow!

Later Sunday we decide to go out for a drive out towards Crosspointe near Morrisville. I took some pictures in the car. This is really the only one that came out any good:
Then we headed to Downtown Cary which is right down the road from our house. Andy forgot his memory card so I let him use my card in his camera since his is fancier. I must say I was slightly dissapointed I wasn't able to take any pictures myself but I suppose that spares you all from a million more pictures to look at! Besides it gave him a chance to try out one of his new filters he got for his birthday. :o)

ABC it's Easy as 1-2-3

There is this great restaurant in Downtown Raleigh called The Rockford. My favorite thing to order there is the ABC sandwich. What is an ABC sandwich you ask? Apple Bacon Chedder. It might sound weird but it is SO good! We recently decided to try it at home and it came out amazing. If you are interested I'll post some simple direction after the pictures. You seriously should try it.

Okay, so all you do is pretend you are making a grilled cheese, slice up some granny smith apple, and cook up some bacon (we used turkey bacon). You butter your bread, put it in the pan to grill, add a little honey to the other side of the bread (you can omit this if you want), put on your cheese, about 3 slices of apple, and two pieces of bacon. Put the top on and make it just like you would any grilled cheese. Then after you remove the sandwich and put it on the plate, sprinkle some powdered sugar on top and you are done! It really is amazing. Promise.

A Few Fun Photos

My old point and shoot was driving me crazy. You put the batteries in and about 10 minutes later it was already flashing low battery. I decided to invest in a new point and shoot and here are just a few fun photos I took experimenting with it. I think I'm going to love it!

Meow!

When Andy and I went to visit my family a few weeks ago my grammy gave us these stairs for our cats. We thought, "hmm..mthey might like these but man, thay LOVE these stairs! We need to get a video of them playing on them for for now, here are a couple pictures of them enjoying themselves:

This one looks a little scary, another reason to not like flash! The camera might take out red eye on humans but it does nothing for animals!
I love this one, Nim is hanging completely upside down. They best part is it happens to be a normal occurance.
Here are two videos. The first is Nim playing with a mouse. Thankfully it isn't real but he sure loves that thing! The second is them playing with the squishy frog thing after I tied it to the door. People post vidoes of their kids all the time. I figured since we don't have children our cats are the next best thing! Enjoy!
