Scooby!

I am so happy with the way this cake turned out I just had to show it off! It was originally supposed to be a present that Scooby was bursting out of but I made a slight mistake and then decided to turn it into this. One of the teachers at my school was having a birthday party for her 6 year old daughter that was Scooby themed. This might just be my second favorite next to the baby shower cake. This teacher has been super supportive and was actually my very first customer ever last spring for her other daughter's birthday. I have to give Andy credit for the Scooby. He was excited when I told him what I was doing and wanted to sculpt him out of fondant. I think he did a GREAT job.

Myrtle Beach

Last weekend I had a wonderful opportunity to go to Myrtle Beach with my mom and best friend. It was a good time. Lots of sun, lots of shopping, and some jousting (which I felt much better about after Amber told me it was all scripted!). It was nice to be away and have some girl time. I did miss mt sweet husband but not too much knowing he was having all sorts of visitors :o) Some old college friends dropped by and his brother and his girlfriend stayed the night. There were plenty of people to keep him company so I didn't feel to bad. Oh, and of course he was watching Boomer and that's always a cause for laughter, apparently even when he decides to sit right by your foot and use the bathroom on the floor while looking up at you saying sorry with his puppy dog eyes, as if he couldn't help it. Now resulting in a nice stain on our carpet. At least he and Allie got along really well so come cruise time there will be no worries. And...apparently Allie is not as silly as we thought considering she figured out how to break him out of the crate. I suppose we need to give her more credit for being a smart dog.

Views from our room. The 20th and top floor!

On the beach.

Our kitchen. The place was nice, there was a king bed in the master bedroom and the living area was really nice with a pull out queen sofa bed. We also had a little dining room, pantry, washer and dryer, a nice bathroom and lots of closet space :o)

The pool was outside on the 6th floor. You could look out and see the ocean from here. I really hate sand so this was a nice alternative to actually laying out on the beach.

Going to Medieval Times was the one big thing we did. It was really neat and the food was great. I'd say everyone enjoyed it even if our red and yellow knight didn't win.

The new attraction at Broadway at the beach. We didn't go but I think if you had kids this would be an awesome place to visit.

As Time Goes By...

Wow...it has been a LONG time since the last post. If you are an avid reader of what takes place in our lives I am so sorry! It's uploading the pictures that tends to make me put it off but I think I finally have figured out a way to make that a little easier.

To be honest, nothing big and exciting is going one. Pretty much just the routine. I was fortunate enough to not only keep my job, but to be moved to an 11 month position. Yes, it means more work but at least there will be a little more pay. Andy's job has been going well. He found out yesterday that he has to get lucky number 17 pulled (wisdom tooth), so that should be exciting. We have been continuing to help out at a church plant. Andy is learning a lot about being a sound engineer and I'm getting to sing, which I had missed dearly. My best friend has recently moved very close to us and I'm super excited about that. She will also be my new dentist! Congrats to her on getting her licence! It will be so nice having another girl around to talk to and do all the girly things, like shopping, together.

A few exciting things have happened in other peoples lives which we have gotten an opportunity to enjoy with them:

A fellow co-worker had a baby the middle of this month, Will. They were sweet and let me try out photographing their newborn. He was so sweet and it was a lot of fun! I've never held a newborn but thanks to them I can say I am no longer afraid of babies! That's a start...right?

Our best friends baby, who appeared in my last post is about 4 months old and they were nice enough to allow us to come over and play with them, too! It was so great seeing them and Noah is such a cutie! Thanks guys for the invite, we never really realize how much we miss seeing you all until we have to leave!

Here are some pictures we got while we were there with them:

I'm heading to the beach this weekend with my mom and a couple friends while Andy stays home to dog sit, deliver a cake for me, and entertain some pretty awesome house guests. We miss our Wilmington family and must get there soon!

Alright, that all for now. Here is to hoping I can really keep up with this thing!
