A Trip to the Vet

This weekend we had the joy of taking Nim and Suki to vet for their annual exam as well as some shots and things they were due for. It was quite eventful starting with trying to get them into the boxes we brought them home from the SPCA in a year ago! I guess living with them every single day we didn't realize just how big they had gotten! They wanted nothing to do with getting in those boxes, especially not Suki. Poor Nim was stuck in his box for about 15 minutes while wewere trying to get Suki into his. We felt so bad for them so as soon as we got to the vet I ran down the road to the pet store and got two big carriers and a blanket for each. The people at the pet store were so kind and put the carriers together for me quickly so we could bring them home in the carriers. While we were at the vet Suki decided to climb to the very top of their cabinets and dust them and was then unable to or just didn't want to, get down. They both did a great job and got a great report card minus the pound or two they need to lose...crazy. I'm glad to say they were both much happier in their new carriers, especially on the drive home.

On the way to the vet in their little boxes:
Suki causing trouble...
New carriers!
And much happier kitties!

We also got to have fun test driving cars. We think within the next year or so we'll be looking into purchasing a bigger vehicle so Andy wanted to go ahead and do some homework so when we need to buy a car we are ready. Yesterdat we drove a Mazda6 and the Ford Fusion. I absolutely fell in love with the Mazda6 and I'm not going to lie, my heart was slightly broken that we couldn't get it right now. Oh well, some day. At least we know what we want now :o)

Playing Catch Up! (The Longest Post Ever)

Things have been busy busy around here lately. We've had a lot of exciting things to do so here is my attempt to catch up the millions of you (haha...good one...) who read our blog.

I know I've said this before but I really think God likes to laugh. It seems about the same time every year I have something to worry about, whether that being trying to raise funds for a mission trip or waiting to hear about a job. Well this year is was the job thing, not knowing if my contract would be renewed for the 2010-2011 school year. I always end up getting to stressed out and so worked up. In the back of my mind I know God will provide...He has every other year but I still end up as a crazy person until finally I find out I have my job and all the crazyness is gone. I think God really enjoys watching us do crazy things knowing He's going to come through for us so in the end we can all jut laugh about it. This school year is going to be extremely crazy with all sorts of little and big challenges but it should be good and I'm ready for the challenge. This past week I've had my first official track out which has been wonderful. I've gotten to go to the gm everyday, do a little shopping, and relax at the house without any worries...I believe it was a well deserved break!

We also had the chance to watch Andy's brother, Ryan, play in the State Championship Baseball Tournament. It was so exciting because they were playing here at Doak Field here at NC State and in the end they wound up with the victory! Once again they put Ryan in the last few innings to pitch. It was so nerve wracking but he did such a great job. He was even named All-Area player of the year according to the Star News. If you are really curious you can go here and read the article: http://www.starnewsonline.com/article/20100625/ARTICLES/100629762?p=5&tc=pg

Everything seems to run together but I believe the weekend after that we headed to Wilmington for Ryan's high school graduation. This has been a big year for him!

Last but not least we spent 4 days visitng Andy's family in Toledo, OH. He drove the whole way there letting me and his sweet mom sleep to pass the drive by quicker. Plus we weren't awake to pester him :o) We mostly just hung out with them around the house, ate a TON of food, went to church, and spent one afternoon at the Toledo Zoo. It was great getting to meet them. They were such fun people! At least now I know where all the crazy comes from ;op

That's all for now! I'll try to get better about posting :o)
