Warning: This will be a VERY long post :o)
In case this post doesn't give it away, I have the week off. There may just be a correlation between posting and time off. It's amazing how busy you can stay with just the same old everyday things you do.
The weather has been quite warm around here and is supposed to continue to be warm throughout the week. Andy, Allie, and I headed to Bond Park yesterday to enjoy the nice weather and threw the Frisbee around. Allie sat at a picnic table while we played and she would like to show you just how warm it was outside...
Last Saturday the three of us took part in the Wake County SPCA 3K Dog Walk downtown. Allie was so well behaved and made lots of spotted friends just like her! Thankfully the rain held off until well after we got home.
Some dogs were a little more prepared for rain than we were:
Later this day was when the deadly storms came through. Thankfully we had no damage. Allie, Nim, Andy, and I did hang out in the downstairs closet for a few minutes though, courtesy of Greg Fishel. Suki was being a stinker and wouldn't get in his crate. The only effect we had from the storms was a little insulation in our yard.
Sunday after church we got to visit our good friends James and Xingyi and meet their little bundle of joy, Noah. He was so cute and we are so happy for them!
A couple of weeks ago we went and visited my family in Catawba. It was so good to see them again!
My sweet, adorable grammy:
Best uncle ever:
My crazy cousin and I...kids grow up so fast!
Cousin Alisa and Grammy
Mom reading to Victor
My Aunt works with the humane society and rescues a lot of dogs. I think there were somewhere around 9 this visit. Here were two incredibly cute ones I couldn't resist photographing:
Andy and Caroline playing soccer with...um...I think this was Polly.
Last week Andy had the chance to go to Wilmington to visit his family. His Uncle Tiny drove himself and Andy's grandparents down from Toledo.
His momma is so pretty :o)
Uncle Tiny
Grandma and Grandpa Usher
Newman, the cat...this was just a funny picture.

We've gotten the chance to see Ryan play ball a couple of times as well. Wear red or teal? The first time State and UNCW met up, definitely teal. The second time...well...still teal but red won.
Softball season has also started up again. Hopefully no injuries this year :o)
Andy was also incredibly sweet and took me skating on Saturday night. He really did a great job! I'm hoping that will encourage him to want to go again. No pictures but it was definitely worth mentioning.
And of course, no post would be complete without pictures of some sort of baked good.
We learned the basket weave in class. This was a chocolate cake with Oreo filling. I don't really care for chocolate cake but this was really good!
And here we have some cookies and cream cupcakes. Yum!
That's all for now. I have another few days off around Memorial Day. I'll see if I can't get something up before then.
