Our Garden!

We, or really Andy, planted a vegetable garden (from seeds!) in our backyard about 3 weeks ago. We weren't sure with the lack of rain and not super sunny area that they were planted in, if they would even grow. We were so excited though because they sure have grown! I mean, there aren't any actual vegetables yet, but things are growing!

Watermelon:

My personal favorite, cucumber:

Green Onions:

Green Beans, these have really taken off:

And little Chili Peppers:

I can't wait to actually have veggies on there to take pictures of! Oh, and to eat of course!

LifeGroup

Andy and I have also joined a LifeGroup through Crosspointe, the church that was have fallen for. This has been for us, an attempt to be more social since we are pretty good at just spending time with one another. It's been fun, definitely challenging in some ways but it will help to make us better people I'm sure. Right now there are only 6 of us, 3 married couples all in different stages of life and marriage which is actually pretty neat. We could learn a lot from this. You never know!

This past week we celebrated one of the group leaders birthdays. His wife made this really cool cake, or cakes. They look just like grilled cheese! Don't be fooled though. Really it's just pound cake with food colored frosting. It was so weird eating something that looks like one thing and tastes like another. So good though!

We also played this crazy game where you are given the beginning of a saying and each player finishes it (sort of like Balderdash) and then you have to try and guess which one is the real answer. I love games but was HORRIBLE at this one. Andy who hates games of course won. I think it was set up that way so he'ld be willing to play games again in the future. Here is my sad yellow peice.

This picture of Andy's shirt was just fun and since this is basically a photo blog and it was taken at the same time, here it is:

A Mother's Day Visit

The weekend after the actual Mother's Day holiday my mom got to come spend the weekend with us. It was nice having her here for a couple of days! We took a walk and Bond Park in the unbelievable heat. Mom walked so much though! I was quite proud of her. Even if she said she could barely move the next day ;o)

After we cooled down from our walk I introduced mom to Glee and then we headed to Southpointe to snoop around and have dinner at Maggiano's, an AMAZING italian restaurant. While we were out there we also came across this guy:

He has been out there the last couple times I have been to Southpointe. What he does is pretty cool but he's GOT to be crazy. This particular show he lost one of his torches. Thankfully he nor anyone else was hurt.

Oh, and I almost forgot, we had another special guest this same weekend:

This is mom's cat "Pressy". She stayed with us, too. I forgot that she wasn't very nice and wasn't very loving to our little boys. Needless to say they remained seperated and she got to chill in the best room in the house.

Ryan's Last Highschool Baseball Game

A few weeks ago Andy and I went to what was supposed to be his brothers last baseball game as a highschool student, before leaving to play for UNCW in the fall. They were playing the number one team in the state (I think) and were not expected to win. They managed to pull it off though, buy A LOT! Thanks to Ryan's great playing I'm sure :o)

Apparently he hadn't pitched much since he was little but they had him pitch the majority of this game and he was AMAZING! Andy and I were so proud of him. He struck out a lot of people that night :o)

Anyway, great job Ryan! We can't wait until the seahawks play around here somewhere next year!

More to Come

Wow...the classroom I should be in right now smells so bad! A kid caught some tadpoles and snails and whatnot and brought in an aquarium to put them in. Needless to say...they small like they died a week ago!...

-----

When it comes to the blog I have been extremely lazy these days. Maybe if we actually were to do something exciting we'ld have something to blog about but the reality it we just don't. Not that its a bad thing. These past couple of weeks have just been so busy. Thanks to the wintery weather we had I've spent the last 2 weekends at school on Saturday thankfully there won't be anymore working Saturdays this year and honestly, though I think the snow is beautiful...if I have a job in the school system come July 1, I'd be okay if the snow just wanted to stay away for the winter. I love my job but my body is so run down. It's ready for that break. July 1st can and can't get here soon enough!

Anway, Andy has started playing softball this year. I'll post some pictures soon. It's been great actaully getting to go and watch him play this year. Last year I had to hear about it all over the phone. It's also a nice break to get out of the house and do something outside. Plus, he's happier because he's getting to do something he really enjoys.

Today I am auditioning for the worship band at our church, Friday we are hopefully going to go see Andy's brother play baseball in Smithfield and Saturday my mom is coming to stay with us for the weekend. Hopefully after all this I'll be able to sit down and upload some pictures and update the blog. For now...have a wonderful day everyone.
